Liberty
Center is a private, nonprofit organization that was established in
1995 to provide out-of-school care for students with disabilities
and their siblings in the Sioux Empire. Today, the Liberty Center
continues to provide a safe, nurturing environment for over 60 students
and their families.
Governed by a Board of Directors, Liberty
Center is a fully-licensed child care center through the South Dakota
Department of Social Services and is a partner agency of the Sioux
Empire United Way.
Liberty Center operates in cooperation with
after-school programs in the Sioux Falls Public School System and at a
location on the campus of Sioux Vocational Services. Liberty Center also
operates the only full-summer day program in the Sioux Empire for
children with disabilities and their siblings. During the summer,
students enjoy outings to museums, restaurants, swimming pools, movie
theaters, the zoos, local parks and much more.
